The 10th edition of Prototypes and Experiments at London’s Aram Gallery looks at the architectural process. The exhibit will featured models and other physical artefacts from the design process – used not just for presentation, but to explore ideas, evoke the feeling of a space, or arrive at a point of decision making.
On show at Aram will be models, tests and fragments of some of Adjaye Associates notable pavilions – including Sclera (2008), Specere (2009), Genesis (2011) and Gwangju River Reading Room (2013). Employing a restricted palette, the pavilions often provide an opportunity to test the effectiveness of the responses to context and programme in a wide range of situations and to examine and refine the principles that inform the practice’s architecture.
Adjaye Associates exhibits will be showcased alongside pieces by dRMM, David Kohn Architects, Feilden Fowles, HASA, IF_DO, Mary Duggan Architects and Studio Weave.
Architecture Prototypes and Experiments runs from 02 August 2018 to 01 September 2018 at the Aram Gallery in London, entry free.
